I never finished it. But I want to. I have no time though. Does anyone want to read what I have so far? It’s not that good.
It was just a fact of life that people died, deservedly or not. That was just how things worked in New Washington. The woman who jumped to her death earlier today came to Sirus‘ mind again. If only she could have held out for just a few more days he might have been able to help her. But, he thought, how many others like her are out there? Like him and Robert? There must be an innumerable amount of ‘undesirables’ and Sirus wanted to reach out to them, but how, he thought?
I have a feeling there will be more days like today where i don’t stop writing.
The 4 countries within my novel: New Washington, the main setting; Nouvelle-Canadia, the French-speaking country to the North; The Union of Mid-Western States (UMWS),to the west; and the Carolinian Republic to the South. All three are mortal enemies of New Washington.
“Sirus, you must listen to me, we haven’t got much time!” His eyes never leaving his son’s gaze.
“They are coming to take away your mother and I! We will do what we can to come back to you. It may take a very long time, but you must remain hopeful.”
As suddenly as his father burst into his room, there came a tremendous crash on the first floor. He heard his mother scream; a scream he had never once heard in his life. It was as if all the terror in the world came together and had infected his mother right down to her core.
He shuddered and dove under his blankets in a feeble attempt to escape the dissonance of his mother’s cries for help and the stentorian cry of the wailing siren outside. He could just make out the loud thumping of footsteps coming up the stairway.
“Son! We love -.” His father never got a chance to finish, as the stomping of heavy boots entered the room.
So 20 minutes until crunch time. I have a general idea of what I am going to write about but I have a feeling this will be a failure of epic proportions. I will keep you posted throughout the month as my novel progresses toward the 50,000 word goal. :)
